Emergency Dental Care in the South Sound

If you have ANY difficulty breathing—CALL 911 or go immediately to the emergency room.

Please do not hesitate to leave a message on Dr. Bloomquist’s emergency line only if:

  • You have swelling of the face, lower eyelid, or neck related to a tooth or dental infection that has spontaneously or quickly spread.
  • You or your child has “knocked out” or avulsed a tooth due to trauma.
  • You have incurred an injury to your teeth, gums, or jaw due to trauma.
  • You are having a bleeding issue related to recent treatment rendered by Dr. Bloomquist.

Call our office during our next business day or leave a GENERAL MESSAGE if:

1) You broke or fractured a tooth or filling: The damage is done! Do not panic. Although it may be sharp and likely sensitive to air or cold, this unfortunately happens. Call us the next business day and we will make you a priority. This also applies to front/anterior teeth. Unless you are getting married that day, be reassured that you will receive exemplary care if I have my team here to support me in your treatment needs.

2) You lost a crown or veneer: This happens, unfortunately. Please call SoundBridge on our next business day or leave a general mailbox message and we will return your call. Crowns, if possible, are important to keep in place—teeth will shift adjacent to your space if given the chance.

Vaseline placed inside the crown and replaced over the preparation or tooth stump will often create enough of a suction to hold the crown in place temporarily. Eat with caution! Do not use superglue.

3) You have had some pain over the past few weeks or months and now it suddenly bothers you to a point you cannot control it with over-the-counter Tylenol or ibuprofen. This is more of a problem of waiting too long to call. I am happy to see you when I am working during normal business hours.

4) It is the middle of the night and your toothache is keeping you awake. I am concerned for you, but there is nothing I can do for you at those hours. Your options are to report to the Urgent Care for pain control or call our office first thing in the morning.

*Pain medication can no longer be phoned into the pharmacy—at any time of day or any day of the week. Narcotic pain medication prescriptions must be dispensed by Dr. Bloomquist at the office.

*Antibiotics or prescriptions of any kind will not be phoned in for any patient that has not been seen at SoundBridge.

*Do not leave a message on the emergency line if you plan to cancel your appointment. WE REQUIRE 48 HOURS NOTICE, so please respect this policy as we have reserved specific time for YOU.
